Assistant Manager

Doug Paeth

Doug was born in Kitchener, Ontario but has called BC home since age 5. After moving from Winfield to Kamloops in 2006, Doug started his weight loss journey by riding bikes and trying to run. His feet always caused issues, until one day he stumbled upon a running store: Runner’s Sole. After having foot issues correctly diagnosed, running became his favourite activity. Seeing as he was hanging out at the shop more than some of his employees, Wayne put Doug to work.

Doug is keener when it comes to anything cycling, running or triathlon related. His knowledge of shoes is only matched by his passion and his terrible puns.

Sales Associate

Lisa Imeson

Lisa was born and raised in Kamloops, joining the Runners Sole crew in the fall of 2018. Being physically active has been a big part of Lisa’s life since childhood; running, hiking, camping, and snowshoeing with her family all over B.C. Lisa starting taking running more seriously about 15 years ago discovering the benefits it had not only for the body but also for clarity of mind.

With much support from RunClub, the staff at Runners Sole, the students she runs with at Sa-Hali Secondary, and the Kamloops running community, Lisa has jumped out of her comfort zone participating in several trails runs, half marathons, 2 full marathons, and even a mini-triathlon. She is eager to learn more about the fitness shoe industry to better serve the runners of Kamloops.

Sales Associate, Mr. Saturday

Colin Holte

Colin started with Runner’s Sole in September 2014. At the time he was in a cast for a broken wrist (cycling crash) and was worried how he would start the job if he couldn’t lace a customer’s shoe.  He needn’t have worried as Wayne was very thorough in his instruction and by the time he had been put through all of Wayne’s shoe talks and patient observational sales process he was fully healed and ready to start helping people.

When it comes to footwear Colin is passionate about achieving the right fit for his customer to allow them to enjoy sport and recreation in a healthy supported fashion. When not working he can most often be found on his road bike bombing the descents and struggling back up the other side of the hill.

Sales Associate

Michael McQueen

Michael is our youngest staff member and has worked part-time at Runner’s Sole since March of 2018. Like many of our staff, Michael participates in many different sports. He plays rep soccer, runs track and cross country, plays basketball, and speed skates.

Michael is an active member of the Kamloops Track & Field Club and dreams of completing an Ironman triathlon. Michael is keener and strives to give the best service possible at every opportunity. When he isn’t at school or Runner’s Sole, you can find Michael running the trails at Peterson Creek or on the soccer field.

Nicole Araki

Nicole was born and raised in Squamish and lived in Quesnel for ten years before settling into Kamloops in 2016. She started running during her time in Quesnel as a way to find balance and to get healthy. She truly enjoys trail running the most, and you’ll catch her in the early morning hours with her faithful dog Tetley. Nicole has participated in several trail events, but one of her local favorites is the Mt. Robson 50km trail race.

Nicole is also a certified yoga instructor who leads hiking/running and yoga clinics. She has a passion for helping people to find their mind-body balance and truly believes that finding your favorite physical activity is a part of that.

Nicole looks forward to helping you find the right shoe to fit your life!

Sales Associate

Marnie Freeman

Marnie joined the staff of Runners Sole in the summer of 2020 as a part-time sales associate. It seemed like a good fit, as she worked in her family’s shoe store as a teenager. Marnie taught aerobics in her 20’s but started running in her early 30’s as a way to relieve stress. She loved exercising in the outdoors and never thought she would return to an indoor studio environment. In January of 2019, she had to eat her words. She was diagnosed with Lyme disease and as part of her treatment regime, she began fitness and yoga classes at Oxygen Yoga and Fitness underneath the healing benefits of infrared heat.

Born and raised in Kamloops, Marnie is dedicated to bringing more awareness to her community regarding the subject of Lyme. She currently enjoys hiking, kayaking, running, fitness classes, and yoga. (She started to play ice hockey in 2014 but has so far her health has not allowed her to return to this sport.) Alongside helping Kamloopsians get a properly fitted pair of shoes, Marnie operates a memory quilting business named Memory Quilts by Marnie. She fondly remembers the day, years ago, when she and a friend walked into Runners Sole and spotted a quilt on the ceiling made from old running T-shirts. It was one of the main inspirations behind her business concept. Marnie is a wife to her husband, Geoff, and a mother to two adult sons that also call Kamloops their home.
